Maths ~ Shape, Space and Measure Focus

We have had lots of snow falling during the last couple of days!  Mrs Molloy and Mrs Ryan have been using measuring tools to find out how deep the snow was in their gardens!

We used a measuring tape to measure the depth of the snow and the numbers on the measuring tape have helped us to find and record our measurement.

This is what we found...

Measuring the depth of snow in Mrs Molloy's garden:                                                                Measuring the depth of snow in Mrs Ryan's garden:

Can you measure the amount of snow that you have seen in your garden or on the ground where you have been walking close to your house?

You could use a tape measure or a ruler if you have these at home or take a photograph of what you see!

RE

We will be continuing to focus upon the Sacrament of Baptism this week.

A special symbol that is associated with Baptism is water.

On Thursday 28th January at 9:30am, there will be a CAFOD National Assembly taking place and the theme of this Assembly is 'Water of Life'.

You can watch this Assembly using the following link and it will be available after this day/time also:

CAFOD National Assembly, 28.1.2021 ~ Water of Life

After watching the Assembly, take some time this week to reflect upon the gift of water.  Where do we see water in the world around us?  How do you access water at home?

We are very fortunate that we are able to access clean water to drink and wash with in our daily lives.

You could write a prayer of thanks for water, thinking about our Virtues of 'Grateful and Generous' that we are focusing upon during this Half Term, using this template ~

Water Prayer Template

This week, the RSPB are doing a bird watch guide, so you can look on their website for more information ~ https://www.rspb.org.uk/get-involved/activities/birdwatch/
