Premier League Primary Stars | PE Lessons | Kent | Educational LifeChallenge 10: CREATE A CHARACTER CHALLENGE (29TH May 2020)

This week, we want you and your family to create a character that could be part of a football-themed story, using our Create a character challenge resources.

For this week’s challenge Premier League Primary Stars are teaming up with the National Literacy Trust and author Dan Freedman. Dan is the author and creator of Jamie Johnson, a football-obsessed boy hoping to become a world-class player. You might have read some of his books, or even seen the Jamie Johnson stories on CBBC!

You can watch Dan reading from Kick Off, the first Jamie Johnson book in the series, and get a free copy of it on the National Literacy Trust Family Zone

You can also join Dan and TV presenter Ben Shires for a very special live event at 11:30 am BST on Tuesday 2 June

But before this exciting event, here is Dan to introduce this week’s challenge:

Create your character and share it with us for your primary school to be in with a chance of winning a special Premier League prize! By sharing your character ideas, you could also be our Star of the Week, be in our community story or be featured on PremierLeague.com.

Share with us at on Twitter via @stannespri and adding in @PLCommunities using #PLPrimaryStars or email PLPrimaryStars@premierleague.com.

Don't forget once you've taken part in the Challenge to join us for the special live event at 11:30 am BST on Tuesday 2 June with Ben Shires and Dan Freedman!

 YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

Sung by Liverpool fans in 1963, the song quickly became the football anthem of Liverpool F.C., which adopted "You'll Never Walk Alone" as its official motto on its coat of arms. The song has been adopted by many different teams since 1963 including the following; Celtic (after a 1966 Cup Winners Cup semi-final against Liverpool at Anfield, and is now sung by Celtic fans prior to every home European home tie), Borussia Dortmund, FC Twente and Feyernood.

You'll Never Walk Alone

 YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

The most recent recording of the song was in 2020. Captain Tom Moore, Michael Ball & The NHS Voices of Care Choir recorded a digital single of  You'll Never Walk Alone. 100% of Captain Tom, Michael Ball and Decca Records’ proceeds from the single will be donated to Captain Tom Moore’s 100th Birthday Walk in aid of NHS Charities Together which supports the incredible NHS staff and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients. On 24 April, it went straight to No. 1 in the weekly "Official" UK Singles Chart making Moore the oldest person to achieve that position and meaning that he was at No. 1 on his 100th birthday.
